NVIDIA Introduces DSX Ready Certification for AI Factory Power and Cooling

NVIDIA launched DSX Ready, a qualification program for partner products that meet its AI factory reference design requirements. The program starts with battery energy storage systems and cooling distribution units, with initial qualified offerings from Hitachi Energy, LG Energy Solution, Tesla, LG Electronics, LiquidStack and Vertiv. It aims to help builders reduce integration risk as power, cooling, water and grid limits shape AI infrastructure deployments.
NVIDIA's DSX Ready program certifies partner hardware against its DSX AI factory reference design. It begins with two categories: battery energy storage systems and cooling distribution units. The first approved BESS options come from Hitachi Energy, LG Energy Solution and Tesla; approved CDUs come from LG Electronics, LiquidStack and Vertiv. More infrastructure and software categories are planned.
For BESS, vendors perform specified tests and provide evidence for NVIDIA's review within a set scope; qualification does not substitute for site engineering or guarantee site stability. CDU vendors use a self-qualification suite to show a product meets relevant NVIDIA functional criteria. Builders still must assess fit for their own site and configuration.
The program may give AI factory developers a clearer way to compare power and cooling products, potentially speeding deployments while reducing integration failures. Utilities and nearby communities could feel effects through added electricity and water demand, as well as grid constraints. Equipment makers that qualify may gain visibility, while those that do not could face pressure to adapt. Overall, it may shape how AI infrastructure growth is managed at site level.
